After MINI unveiled the MINI Paceman at the Manila International Autoshow (MIAS) they are finally making the car available for sale. Last Thursday, June 06, 2013 they had a party at the Global City showroom where they introduced the new colors of the MINI Paceman. Only on Thursday you can actually buy/pre-order the car.
Although i have been informed that the Absolute Black, Crystal Silver and Oxford Green colors are currently not available due to it being out of stock. Perhaps cause it’s the most popular or least popular color in the line.
The MINI Paceman will be available in only the Cooper, and Cooper S variant with plans to bring in the John Cooper Works (JCW) variant later along the line. I’ve asked them if they had any plans on bringing in the Diesel models of the Paceman, but unfortunately no they don’t. Diesel ain’t that bad, especially with the traffic in the Philippines, you won’t be able to hit the Cooper S top speed of 212 km/h anyways.
The MINI Paceman still follows the traditional “go-kart” feeling drive MINI has been famous for. With an intentionally lowered suspension making it lower than the regular Cooper hardtop, it gives it a helluva lot more grip. And with the Cooper S you get practically the same engine as the Cooper only this time they have added in a Twin Scroll Turbocharger to pump it up to 184 hp from 122 hp, and 260 Nm of torque from 160 Nm. Fuel consumption is not that bad too, with both the Cooper, and Cooper S variants getting the practically the same fuel consumption of 13 Kilometers per liter, so it won’t break the bank when you fill er up.
There is alot to talk about the new MINI Paceman, but this post is not to review the thing but to let you know it’s there. I recommend you going to the MINI Global City Showroom at the 5th Ave. Corner 265h Street, Bonifacio Global City Taguig beside Hyundai Motors.
